Praise God this New Year!
And this man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice unto Jehovah! 1 Samuel 1:3

I read your blog almost on a daily basis, you are doing a great job are what God ask us to do.
Here is a nugget/present for those who can appreciate it. I have been tracking this for a long time now, and it's finally available. In theory it should silence people who says the Bible has translation errors and cannot be trusted, but we all know, that if you are willfully blind, then nothing will make you see the truth.
Dead Sea Scrolls: (Available online) "Remarkably, some of these ancient copies are identical to the traditional text of the Hebrew Bible that is used today. Other copies preserve differences in the text, which was in the process of standardization."
And of course, this is one of my favorites: (fragment 4Q Genesis) http://www.deadseascrolls.org.il/explore-the-archive/image/B-295662
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was formless and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep; And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Thanks for visiting and for your comments. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Thank you also for your words of encouragement.
I appreciate the links you've provided. The Dead Sea Scrolls were probably THE most significant, archeological discovery of the last century. As you've said, they give witness to the integrity of the Bible translations we use today. They also highlight the hypocrisy of Bible skeptics who never seem to question other writings from antiquity. Why is there such a double standard?
Happy New Year, Robert! I think the reason that double standard exists is twofold. One, skeptics of the Bible are just plain lazy and don't care to really compare the reliability of the texts compared to other ancient writings. Second, they have a vested interest in believing the Bible to be a fallible man-made creation. It keeps them comfortably separate from the creator that they will be accountable to. It's really sad that they must see the Bible like I see L. Ron Hubbard's writings, as a complete fabrication with no merit.
I think you're absolutely right on both points. I would also add the double standard is a product of their irrationality. Like I've said many times, non-biblical worldviews are irrational. A fool says in his heart, “there is no God.”
No one can credibly deny the integrity of the Bible compared to other books of antiquity yet critics claim to trust the other books and doubt the Bible. It's a clear case of “special pleading.” Logical fallacies are an oasis for the foolish.

Todd,
Happy New Year to you as well!
